VICE CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE
AUDIT DEPARTMENT
Internal Audit Clerk (1 Post)
Reporting to the Internal Auditor the incumbent will be expected to perform the
following duties:
Duties
The successful candidate will be required to:-
- Scrutinise accounting and other records for compliance with IFRS and
organisational policies; - Perform basic value-for-money audits;
- Review internal control systems and making recommendations;
- Undertake or support adhoc special audit investigations;
- Support the preparation and implementation of annual audit plan and
programmes; - Assist in the monitoring and review of corrective action taken on internal
and external audit findings.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Internal
Auditing, from a university recognised by ZIMCHE. - Significant progress in acquiring a respected professional qualification in
Auditing or Accountancy. - A minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in an auditing,
investigation or accounting role in a reputable organisation.
Key Competencies for the Job
Preference will be for candidates who in addition to meeting the above criteria
also demonstrate the following attributes:-
- Strong analytical skills;
- Professionalism and strong work ethics;
- Willingness to work long and odd hours as and when the need arises;
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
- Knowledge of accounting software, especially Pastel and Sage Evolution
