Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an integrated corporate communications and public relations strategy aligned to NetOne’s mission, values and business objectives.
- Manage corporate reputation and enhance NetOne’s public image across all stakeholder groups.
- Advise Executive leadership on public messaging, media strategy, and reputation management.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Media, Regulators, Government Institutions, Industry Stakeholders, and the public.
- Act as company spokesperson and lead all public communication on issues of public interest, including regulatory developments and service updates.
- Lead media engagement initiatives including press conferences, interviews, corporate announcements, and executive communications.
- Manage crisis communication and reputation risk during operational, regulatory, or public incidents.
- Oversee digital communication and social media engagement strategies and manage online reputation through proactive engage-ment and real-time response.
- Monitor media trends, public sentiment, and stakeholder perceptions and advise Executive Management accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment in corporate messaging across all platforms.
- Support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community engagement programmes, highlighting NetOne’s community impact.
- Manage external agencies and consultants to deliver campaigns, events, and media placements on time and on the NetOne brand.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Media/ Journalism/ Communication or related field.
- A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- At least 8 years’ progressive working experience in PR or Corporate Communications, of which 5 years should be at a Senior Management level.
- Qualified persons with experience in the public sector, private sector, third sector and diplomatic missions are all encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of the Zimbabwean media landscape and regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis communication, media handling, and corporate reputation management.
- Strong strategic communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Exceptional media relations and public speaking skills.
- High emotional intelligence and cultural awareness.
- Proven crisis communication and reputation management expertise.
- Digital communication and social media management expertise.
- High levels of professionalism, diplomacy, and integrity.
