Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing the Group’s business development strategy in line with the organisation’s long-term strategic objectives.
- Identifying, evaluating and commercialising new business opportunities, products and services that contribute to sustainable revenue growth.
- Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs and investment opportunities.
- Developing innovative business models and strategic initiatives that enhance the Group’s competitive advantage.
- Identifying, negotiating and managing strategic partnerships, joint ventures and collaborative agreements with local and international organisations.
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with Government agencies, regulatory bodies, development partners, investors and other key stakeholders.
- Leading negotiations for commercial agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and other strategic business arrangements.
- Representing the Group at industry conferences, investment forums, business exhibitions and stakeholder engagements.
- Preparing high-quality business cases, feasibility studies, investment proposals and strategic reports for Executive Management and the Board.
- Driving innovation across business units by supporting the development of new products, services and business initiatives.
- Monitoring business development projects to ensure agreed objectives, budgets, timelines and performance targets are achieved.
- Providing leadership, coaching and performance management to the Business Development team while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science or another relevant commercial or technical discipline from a recognised institution.
- A Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Finance or Strategy, or a relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- Professional certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Corporate Finance will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ senior management experience in business development, corporate strategy, commercial management or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and commercialising new business opportunities.
- Proven experience in establishing strategic partnerships, negotiating commercial agreements and managing high-value stakeholder relationships.
- Experience within the education, healthcare, pharmaceutical or corporate sectors will be an added advantage.
- A successful track record of leading business growth initiatives from concept through implementation.
