LOCATION : PARLIAMENT BUDGET OFFICE
REPORTS TO : DIRECTOR BUDGET OFFICE
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in the analysis of audit reports submitted to Parliament by the Auditor- General (AG);
- Assisting the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to analyse audited reports from the Auditor- General and follow-up implementation of recommendations made;
- Assisting in the analysis of monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements from various ministries and government departments on behalf of Portfolio Committees;
- Assisting the PAC with background research in order to justify requests for special reports by the AG;
- Assisting with research on best practises in financial management; and
- Any other relevant duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
- A Bachelor of Accountancy Degree
- Analytical and financial modelling skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent time-management and organisational ability
- Ability to multi-task and meet constant deadlines
- Willingness to work long hours, when necessary
