GENERAL MANAGER – FARM OPERATIONS

(HORTICULTURE 40KM FROM HARARE):

An exciting new role within an expanding organisation to oversee farm and small holder operations. At least 10+ years experience in horticulture as a farm manager position or higher. Marketing and Pack House experience are a bonus

The ideal candidate must have experience in agronomy and field management of the horticultural division: Cauliflower, Broccoli, Sweet Peppers, Sweet corn, Peas, Lettuce, Sugarloaf Cabbage, Chinese Cabbage, Red Cabbage, Carrots. Field and Pack house Biosecurity.

• Will be responsible for all Pack house operations, systems and reports.
• Input and Supplies procurement. Overseeing the Delivery staff and Logistics.
• Maintaining all vehicle maintenance and reports.
• Create and Maintain Systems that increase efficiency and traceability of all Company operations. Staff training and management.
• Maintain proper human resources systems and records, including paying monthly wages and advances.

• Farm Inventory and Equipment maintenance and reports.
• Oversee all harvesting regimes and quality control protocols.
• Maintain systems and records for all Chemical procedures.
• Create and Abide by Grower’s Guides and budgets for all crops.
• Create financial budgets for each crop and report to the Directors on the adherence to the budgets. In charge of liasing with supermarkets and our other clientele in order to obtain produce orders and provide excellent customer service.

At least a Diploma/Bsc in Horticulture/Agriculture/or Crop Science, but a Masters would be ideal. Salary range from $4000 plus Profit sharing, free accommodation and utilities.
