Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support during GIS and Remote Sensing practical sessions
  • Managing and maintaining the GIS laboratory, equipment, and related software
  • Installing, configuring, and updating GIS and Remote Sensing software (eg, ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine)
  • Assisting staff and students with spatial data acquisition, processing, analysis, and map production
  • Managing spatial databases and ensuring proper data storage and backup
  • Supporting field data collection using GPS and other geospatial technologies
  • Ensuring compliance with university ICT and laboratory policies
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Department

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Science, Geospatial Science, GIS and Remote Sensing, Geo-informatics, or a related field
  • The candidate must have 5 Ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics
  • Postgraduate diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing will be an added advantage
  • Possession of 1year university or research environment experience

About the Company

Gwanda State University is a state higher education institution that is in Insiza district, Zimbabwe.
