Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical support during GIS and Remote Sensing practical sessions
- Managing and maintaining the GIS laboratory, equipment, and related software
- Installing, configuring, and updating GIS and Remote Sensing software (eg, ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine)
- Assisting staff and students with spatial data acquisition, processing, analysis, and map production
- Managing spatial databases and ensuring proper data storage and backup
- Supporting field data collection using GPS and other geospatial technologies
- Ensuring compliance with university ICT and laboratory policies
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Department
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Science, Geospatial Science, GIS and Remote Sensing, Geo-informatics, or a related field
- The candidate must have 5 Ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics
- Postgraduate diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing will be an added advantage
- Possession of 1year university or research environment experience
