VACANCY
Chiredzi Town Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill vacancies in the Housing and Community Services Department.
Qualifications and Experience

At least 5 O Level subjects, including English Language, Science, and Mathematics.

Age between 18 and 24 years.

Physically fit and able to withstand heights and enclosed spaces.
-
Ability to work in a team and solve problems.
-
No criminal record.
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Respond promptly to fire, rescue, and emergency calls.
-
Operate and maintain firefighting equipment (hoses, pumps, ladders, breathing apparatus).
-
Rescue individuals and animals from life-threatening situations.

Provide emergency first aid before ambulance service arrives.
-
Participate in fire prevention and inspection programs in the community.

Conduct routine checks, servicing, and cleaning of firefighting tools and fire trucks.
-
Assist in investigating fire causes under senior officers’ direction.

Participate in regular drills, physical fitness training, and continuous learning.
-
Educate the public on fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Maintain accurate incident reports and complete all required documentation after responses.
