National Pharmaceutical Company is a Government owned company that is assigned the mandate to procure using efficient methods, warehouse, distribute to service delivery points nationwide and manufacture medicines and medical supplies. Vacancies have arisen within the Company.   1. FINANCE MANAGER

DUTY STATION: HARARE

The Finance Manager reports to the Managing Director and will be responsible for the following among other duties:

  • Oversee financial operations of the Company.
  • Prepare and submit for review by the Board of Directors, Managing Director and Management, internal, monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements, reports and schedules on all Company accounts and programs.
  • Establish and maintain Corporate bank accounts
  • Establish and maintain accounting records, bookkeeping, accounts and internal controls for the Company.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of Company Financial Plan and annual budgets.
  • Update and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor cashflow, accounts and other financial transactions.
  • Analyze the financial climate and market trends to assist Executives in creating strategic plans for the Company
  • Prepare company year-end financial statements and working papers for the external auditor.
  • Participate in Board and Board Committee meetings and being accountable to the directives from the Board of Directors, and providing advise to the Managing Director and the Board on matters concerning financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all the Company’s financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
  • Execute the financial and investment strategy of the Company.
  • Manage and provide ongoing training to accounting personnel.
  • Oversee the proper valuation of all company assets, stock management and ensure their safe custody.
  • Ensure that the Company is adequately capitalized by monitoring and controlling all Company borrowings as well as ensure adequate funding for working capital and capital expenditure systems.
  • Coordinate and produce all tax documentation as required.
  • Advise and guide the Company on corporate governance to ensure full compliance with the Company’s Act.
  • Ensure safe custody of all the company statutory registers.
  • Ensure all returns are made to the Registrarof Companies.
  • Monitor and control the company’s tax liabilities and ensures timely submission of necessary returns to the tax authorities.
  • Coordinate external audits and reviews.
  • Draft for approval and implement the Departmental Plan.
  • Appraise all staff under the Department.
  • Chair Management Committees as assigned.

Qualifications and Key Competences

The successful candidate should be in possession of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • MBAis a prerequisite.
  • A holder of a post-graduate degree such as MBA, M .Sc. Economics or equivalent
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CPA) is a must.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance managerial position.
  • Cost Management experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and ERP software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be innovative and growth oriented.
  • Strong Decision Making Capabilities.
  • Thorough and meticulous.
