The Finance Manager is part of the Senior Management Team of the Bureau and plays a key role in the financial management of the Bureau’s resources. This role supports and reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the production of IFRS compliant Consolidated Annual Financial Statements
- Establishes effective accounting systems and procedures and oversees the accounting functions.
- Producing accurate financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
- Manage cash flow, payments, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
- Developing cash flow statements
- Asset management
- Providing advice in making financial decisions
- Directing investments
- Developing, reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets
- Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk
- Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information
- Ensure that annual internal and external audits are conducted efficiently, smoothly and timely
- Review financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs and maximize resource use
- Supervision of accounts staff.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Accountancy (BAcc) Degree or equivalent.
- A fully completed professional qualification such as CGI, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or other;
- Must be registered with PAAB;
- Master’s Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or its equivalence is an added advantage.
- Other higher qualifications and certifications will be an added advantage;
- A minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in a relevant field; preferably in public sector organisations;
- Good knowledge of current business trends.
