Data Privacy Engineer
Reporting to the Data Privacy Specialist

Key Job Purpose
To enforce the implementation and operationalisation of data privacy compliance requirements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Maintain PII records (ROPA), conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy audits, and review the lawful basis of processing.
  • 2. Map data flows and implement privacy-by-design and least-privilege access controls, embedding privacy requirements into systems.
  • 3. Support privacy incident response, document and report breaches, and support audits, regulatory reporting and compliance with ISO 27701 and ISO 27001.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics and Telecommunications, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Privacy by Design skills with knowledge of Data Protection principles, ISO 27701 and ISO 27001.
  • Must have POTRAZ-HIT CDPO and any one of the following:
  • ISACA CDPSE
  • PECB CDPO
  • IAPP CIPP/E
  • CEH or CompTIA Security+ is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience.
