Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) (Private) (Limited), a subsidiary of ZE SA Holdings Group is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation’s electrical power reguirements from its five power stations. The company is inviting suitably qualified, motivated and experienced staff to fill the following vacancy that has arisen in Zimbabwe Power Company.

THE POSITION:
This is a senior position reporting directly to the Managing Director at ZPC Head Office. The position has a key responsibility of providing corporate governance guidance, legal advice and corporate secretarial services to the Company’s Board of Directors and the Executive Management Committee.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Degree in Law or equivalent
• Post Graduate Qualification such as MBA/MBL or equivalent
• Full membership of a recognized and relevant professional institution
• At least 8 years post-graduate relevant experience with 6 years at Senior level

Key Performance Areas:
• Participates as part of the Executive Management in the development and implementation of the Corporate Strategy.
• Acts as Secretary to the Board, Shareholders and Committee meetings including convening the meeting, preparation of agenda and papers as well as drafting and extracting of minutes and resolutions thereafter.

• Ensures compliance with the Company’s establishing Memorandum and Articles of Association are adhered to.
• Ensures the provision of strategic legal advice to the Board, management and staff to ensure that ZPC’s legal and quasi- legal interests are properly safe guarded by ensuring that the Board and management of ZPC are fully aware of legal implications of proposed courses of action.
• Manages the outsourcing of external legal services including instructing and drafting briefing papers for the outsourcing of legal services.
• Represents ZPC at labour hearings and tribunals on labour disputes.
• Ensures proper and professional drafting of all legal contract to avoid interpretation and implementation flaws.
• Develops and manages the Company’s approach towards litigation and other proceedings to which the Company is a party.
• Ensures that all debts owed to ZPC are collected timeously and expeditiously at minimum cost
