Communication and Policy Officer

ActionAid Zimbabwe is working with a consortium of NGOs and private partners (COSV, Mercy Corps, Braford Investments, Shamiso Farms, Zvikomborero Farms and Michview Entreprise) to support the Zimbabwe Agricultural Growth Programme in the area of Goat and Pig value chain transformation. Staff recruited to this programme will be based in Harare and will implement activities throughout Zimbabwe.

The postholder will be responsible for all the communications, visibility and policy engagement processes of the project.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field; Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in advocacy and communications role.

Key Competencies
An excellent communicator with the ability to tell, write and edit compelling stories that bring the impact of work to life; Strong skills in advocacy and lobbying (capacity to engage with key high-level decision makers such as members of parliament and other relevant government ministries); Ability to communicate with a range of people across different mediums e.g. social media.
