Duties and Responsibilities

• Formulates programmes for preparatory civil works
• Participates in project budget planning and development and come up with proposals
• Analyses proposals submitted for implementation of the projects and advises the Section Engineer
• Monitors project progress, identifies potential and real problem areas, formulates solutions and advises the Section Engineer
• Monitors civil engineering works under supervision of project consultant and Section Engineer structural and Civil.
• Inspects civil engineering materials, equipment and other receivables on delivery and during storage
• Monitors the quality of Civil engineering works
• Participates in quality control checks, compares with specifications and advises on any deviations and possible courses of action
• Participates in reviews and updates of designs and drawings, tracksail the updates and produces reports
• Participates in plant and equipment testing and commissioning
• Monitors critical parameters during and after test runs and commissioning of plant and equipment

Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Civil Engineering
• Preferably 4 years’ experience in power generation or heavy industry
• ECZ registration and/or membership of a professional engineering institution
• Certification in project managementis an added advantage
