A well-established Pension Fund based in Harare is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer which has arisen.
JobPurpose:
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leading the Pension Fund through the initiation and implementation of strategies to unlock its full potential to deliver value to the members in a long term and sustainable manner.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the incumbent’s key responsibilities will be as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulates institutional objectives in line with Government policy and regulatory mandate to ensure the Pension Fund achieves its obligations.
- Formulates medium and long term organisational Strategic plans for the institution to properly manage the Pension Fund.
- Develops presentations to the Board on the Pension Fund’s corporate plan to ensure the Board appreciates the fund’s mandate to provide the necessary support.
- Ensures the execution of activities in fulfilment of annual business plans and is accountable for articulating the shareholder perspective and to provide the leadership and direction required in the operations of the Pension Fund.
- Ensures the creation and sustenance of a sound corporate image of the Pension Fund.
- Ensures the formulation and implementation of a communications strategy that will ensure for the smooth flow of communication internally and externally.
- Understands, manages, and predicts the external environmental factors and landscape that will impact the Pension Fund including the following factors: political, social, economic, technology, competition, environments and legal.
- Understands the security issues associated with the Pension Fund and have in the place the highest- level security platform designed to prevent loss within the Fund.
- Identifies the appropriate organisational structure suitable for delivering results in line with the Pension
Fund’s overall mandate.
- Promotes staff professionalism, discipline, integrity, and exemplary performance to achieve the Pension Fund’s objectives.
- Attracts, develops, motivates, and retains high calibre staff dedicated to outstanding performance.
- Initiates and implements Human Resources staffing plans highly linked to the Pension Fund’s performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A first degree in the relevant field such as finance and investments, accounting, economics, insurance and risk management and actuarial science.
- Must be a member of a relevant professional body such as ACCA, CGI, C IMA, CFA.
- Must have a master’s degree in related field.
- Certificate of Proficiency in Pension Scheme Trusteeship is an added advantage.
- Must have at least 10 years’ experience in the pension industry of which 5 years should be at senior managerial level.
