HWANGE POWER STATION – EXPANSION PROJECT

Zimbabwe Power Company is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation’s electric power requirements from its five power stations ZPC is undertaking various projects that are meant to close the gap between electrical energy demand and supply. The company is now on the execution stage of the 600MW Hwange Power Station: Expansion Project. We are therefore inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following vacant position of the project that has arisen on a fixed-term contract basis of up to 18 months:

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Purchasing & Supply or equivalent
• Membership at a recognizsd professional institution
• At least Zyears postgraduate experience
• Project management experience an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that requirements for the Project including consumables are ordered on time
• Check the correctness of purchases requests and specifications
• Analyse descriptions and obtain additional information as necessary

• Conduct research and recommend suitable sources of supply in line with existing laws and procedures
• Partidpalein tender openings and provide support through performing secretarial duties in adjudication meetings
• Evaluatbnof received bids, quotations and other terms against tender and preparation of comparative schedules

• Compile purchase requisition/order status reports and other reports as and when required
• IMS Implementation
