Audit Officer
Station: Lotteries and Gaming Board.
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer.
The Lotteries and Gaming Board, established under the Lotteries and Gaming Act Chapter [10:26], is mandated to regulate and supervise the lotteries and gaming industry in Zimbabwe. The Board invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the position of an Audit Officer.
Key Responsibilities

Provide advisory support on internal controls, risk mitigation, and process improvements.

Participate in special investigations, spot checks, and fraud risk assessments.

Support the development and review of internal audit policies, procedures, and tools.

Participate in the development of annual and quarterly audit plans.

Conduct risk-based internal audits across operational, financial, ICT, and compliance areas.

Prepare audit working papers in line with professional standards.
-
Perform fieldwork, data analysis, and testing of internal controls.

Draft clear, concise audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations.

Present audit results to the Board.

Assess compliance with the Lotteries and Gaming Act Chapter [10:26], Board policies, Treasury Instructions, and other statutory requirements.

Identify control weaknesses and propose corrective actions.

Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow-up on outstanding issues.
Qualifications and Experience

A degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.

Professional certification or progress toward CIA, CISA, ACCA, or CPA is an added advantage.

At least 3-5 years’ experience in auditing, preferably in a regulatory, public sector, or gaming environment.

Knowledge of public sector governance frameworks and PFMA requirements.

In-depth knowledge of Zimbabwean corporate law, public sector governance frameworks, and statutory compliance.

Proven ability to manage Board affairs with discretion and professionalism.
