The opportunities:

Interesting, yet challenging opportunities have arisen to join the EY Professional Practice Group – Audit Technical for technically strong individuals with a passion for training, reading, research and analysis and a strong application of Auditing Standards.  

 

Essential functions of the role:

• Provide consultation support to the engagement teams on the application of various auditing and other standards to specific situations
• Support engagement quality review processes by reviewing select risk areas on engagements
• Provide guidance on the application of our audit methodology to teams
• Support teams to implement current and new regulatory requirements as well as changes in laws, auditing and accounting standards and firm policies
• Develop and implement learning plans
• Internal and external training and advice on auditing standards, methodology, tools and laws, and regulations
• Monitoring and supporting Sustainable Audit Quality initiatives for Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi
• Support teams with effective use of firm technology tools

Knowledge & skills requirement:

• Technically strong with an excellent understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and local laws and regulations
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems
• Sound ability to assimilate and distill information
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations
• Flexibility and ability to deliver on several demands at once
• Commercial and financial awareness of the impact of accounting decisions on other aspects of business

 

Qualifications and experience required:

• CA (Z) or CA (SA) or equivalent1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role and in a like-minded firm
• Sound business, client, team and personal leadership skills including verbal communication and presentation skills
