Job Summary
To account for all cash generated from Econet own shops and franchises and implementation of financial controls.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensures that all cash transactions have been updated in the Cash Management module by the accounting assistants ensuring monthly reporting deadlines are met monthly.
- Ensures that all Ecocash, Agent Banking and IR transactions are properly accounted for and sufficient controls are in place to prevent leakages
- Monitors and prepares reports and statistics for daily collections for all shops nationwide from the Receipting system.
- Investigates any unusual increases or decreases in cash collected in different shops and liaises with responsible departments.
- Prepares collections reports and statistics daily and submits them to the Financial Controller.
- Analyses and reconciles short term money market investments monthly.
- Prepares the banking and collections RBZ report and submits to the Financial Controller.Computes revaluations for treasury shares each month.
- Prepares monthly short term investments and bank control accounts reconciliations
- Receives and Reviews month end bank, Ecocash and Agent banking reconciliations audit file from accounting assistants.
- Checks and authorizes any adjustments on cash management journals and bank accounts journals.
- Implements and reviews internal controls with regards receipting, cash collection & banking, Ecocash, Agent banking for standard shops and FranchisesMonitors adherence by Franchises to agreed receipting and banking timelines as well as accuracy of commissions deducted.
- Ensure that all shops are complying with the Zimra requirements by issuing fiscalised invoices/receipts at all times and also obtaining of ZIMRA clearance before transacting manually.
- Cash Management staff engagement, discusses and agrees medium and short term objectives, develops a work plan and ensures compliance.
- Participates in projects that encompass development of new products & services; implementation of receipting systems and other financial systems.
Qualifications And Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
- A vocational qualification in CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- 2-4 years’ experience in a similar or related environment
