Enthuse Afrika is a small, youth-run, women-led digi-creative social enterprise in Harare that runs a self-funded co-working space called Afrotopia. We use online media to tell the powerful impact, brand and people stories via video, web, design and writing while experimenting with youth-focused internet-related ideas and experiences.

Purpose of position

We’re looking for an accountant great at setting up financial reporting and financial management structures. One who can set up systems in funding management and funding reporting systems within auditable reconciliation standards.

Key tasks

Re-structure financial reporting and financial management structures; Process all financial transactions to enable accurate financial reporting and monitoring; Prepare reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure exceptions are identified and dealt with promptly; Prepare financial management reports on a monthly basis and provide information to the management for decision making; Perform physical verification of assets at least once per year to ensure that all assets are accurately recorded; Maintain and manage to achieve financial documents to safeguard financial records and audit trails; Prepare monthly payroll and all the related statutory returns; compute staff separation benefits and ensure and periodic PAYE returns are done to ensure adherence to the approved policies, Employment Law and Tax Laws.

Qualifications

Professional qualification in accounting and at least 3 years of accounting experience (preferably in an NGO/Social Enterprise). Well versed in computerized accounting.
