Business Development Officer: ActionAid Zimbabwe

The position holder will lead the design, planning and implementation of technical interventions under the production and market linkage component of the project and provide continuous technical guidance on value chain development to small holder farmers and private sector engagements and capacity building support to field level staff for the consortium at district level. The incumbent will conduct production and market assessment, assist and coordinate the production and market linkage in functions in all operational areas under the project. The officer will organise farmers, link them to local markets and build the capacity of the leadership and management teams of the project.

Requirements

Degree in Agriculture (preferably majoring in Livestock), Agriculture economics, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Livestock, Social science, agricultural marketing and/or value chain development; Minimum 5 years, officer level work experience within Livelihood projects, particularly in establishing market linkages; Experience in NGO sector or working with other agencies in market systems facilitation, agribusiness or financial services is desirable; Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations with local staff and other stakeholders; Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills; Willingness to travel to remote arears within the program areas
