National Coordinator (SAGE) Job Description
Reporting to the Project Manager (SAGE) ,the job holder is needed to provide coordination and technical guidance to the Program Coordinators in the implementation of the accelerated learning program across the selected districts targeted by the Supporting Adolescent Girls’ Education (SAGE) project in Zimbabwe .She/He will represent Plan International at national stakeholder forums, consultative sessions or conferences on education program initiatives related to the SAGE project.

Accountabilities

Operations and program management

• Overall responsibility for effective management of the accelerated learning program for the adolescent girls’ project in accordance with set procedures, systems and guidelines.
• Responsible for training and support to district teams to implement the accelerated learning program.
• Responsible for capacity development and training of district staff and management of the learning hub activities.
• All relevant parties are kept informed of Plan activities as appropriate (e.g. government, school authorities, learning hub management committees etc.)
• All key stakeholders participate effectively in SAGE program planning and implementation as appropriate
• Draw up plans, proposals and budgets for new projects/extensions of projects in conjunction with the relevant team, and financial staff.
• Proactively contribute towards the development of accelerated learning program strategies.

Logistics/Finance/Administration

• Familiarity with donor compliance issues, ensuring all projects are compliant with these and Plan procedures.
• Appropriate administrative, financial and logistical Plan systems/procedures are in place, maintained and adhered to so that all support functions are carried out effectively and efficiently.
• Responsible for the preparation of projected expenditures quarterly.

Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming

• Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Safeguarding Children and Young People, Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.

Knowledge 
• A Masters’ Degree in Education/ Social Science equivalent qualification
• Additional qualifications and experience in project management, report writing and social/community development skills will be an added advantage
• First-hand knowledge of education policy and priorities in Zimbabwe.
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience working with marginalised communities, particularly girls
• Experience of donor liaison and working with government ministries at provincial and national levels
• Ability to work with and manage teams, communicate and coordinate with government departments and other agencies at various levels.
• Experience in financial, budget and administrative management or related issues
