JOB PURPOSE
Our organization is seeking for a vibrant and adaptable Chef. The position exists to oversee the entire kitchen operations by daily monitoring all food preparation, presentation and delivery of food timeously

Duties
1. Maintenance of a high level of food quality and production with the aim of exceeding client expectations.
2. Recommend menu modifications or new menu that meet quality standards
3. Ensure the consistent smooth running of food production areas within the Kitchen
4. Ensure optimal stock holding levels are adhered to in accordance to company requirements to prevent over or understocking
5. Participate in preparation of food costings for all food items prepared in the kitchen.
6. Ensure cleanliness in the Kitchen in accordance with HACCP standards
7. Develop recipes and determine how to present food to the required standards
8. Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards
9. Manage kitchen staff.
Experience
• Preparation of food to a high standard
• Previous head chef or sous chef experience
• Previous line cook or food preparation experience
• Must have worked in a busy kitchen preferably a catering company
• Management of staff
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in a similar position

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Strong interpersonal and communicative skills (verbal and written)
• Attention to detail
• Creative and self-motivated
• Problem solving skills
• Driver`s licence will be an added advantage
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Culinary Arts OR any other relevant qualifications
