Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions that have arisen within Chiredzi Town Council.

1. WORKSHOP FOREMAN

Salary Grade: T9
Reporting to: Director of Works

Qualifications and Experience

• Class 1 Journeyman Certificate in Motor Mechanics or Diesel Plant Fitting.
• Apprenticeship trained.
• At least 5 years post qualification experience in a similar or related field.
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s License.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of local government systems, construction and management systems.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervising workshop activities.
• Planning and coordinating workshop activities.
• Supervising and training workshop staff.
• Preparing and submitting workshop reports.
• Ensuring safety and security of workshop equipment.
• Preparing and submitting job cards.
• Maintaining workshop equipment.
• Carrying out procurement of workshop equipment and materials.
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned.
