JOB DESCRIPTION
Applications are being invited from qualified and experienced candidates to fill the post of Workshop Assistant (Grade 5) which has arisen in Zvimba Rural District Council.
Person Specification
- The person must have gone up to ‘O’ level secondary education
- Is a journeyperson in Automotive Engineering (Artisan Class 3 or higher)
- Should have at least 2 years working experience.
- Age range should be 20 and above
- Clean Class 2 Drivers’ license a must
Overall responsibility
To assist with the repairs of all council equipment/plant, tools and vehicles in satisfactory operational condition.
Duties
- To keep an updated record of all council’s vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Timeous servicing of all council vehicles fleet, generator, equipment and tools
- Daily vehicle, equipment and tools checks before use
- To ensure good stock control management of all parts, tools,equipment and vehicles in the section
- Workshop maintenance
- Driving
- Clean all council vehicle and equipment which leave the workshop after servicing and repairing
