Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and coordinating the activities of artisans, grounds personnel, and other maintenance staff.
- Receiving, prioritising, allocating, and monitoring job cards to ensure timely completion of maintenance works.
- Inspecting completed maintenance works to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Coordinating routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance of University buildings, infrastructure, and facilities.
- Monitoring the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, materials, and other departmental resources.
- Conducting regular inspections to identify maintenance requirements and recommend corrective action.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations during maintenance operations.
- Maintaining maintenance records and preparing periodic reports.
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of infrastructure maintenance programmes.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Campus Manager.
Requirements
- A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other related technical qualification.
- A skilled trade qualification in plumbing, electrical installation, carpentry, bricklaying, or a related building trade will be an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years’ relevant supervisory experience in facilities, infrastructure, or maintenance management.
- Sound knowledge of building maintenance, infrastructure management, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
