A medium size gold mining company is seeking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor. The incumbent will lead a multi-disciplined workforce of storemen. The incumbent will implement systems and procedures in line with the company’s stores management policy.

Reports to the Mine Accountant

• Ability to plan, organize, lead and control work by a multi-disciplined workforce of Store men
• Good technical product knowledge
• Good oral and written reporting skills
• Good interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the warehouse function and organization, ensuring that activities are carried out efficiently
• Develop departmental skills and competency levels using various methods
• Ensure compliance with ERP dictates and other internal control standards as required by legislation, both international and local
• Receive materials and ensure that they fully meet the required specifications as set out in purchase orders/ agreements and arranging for inspection as necessary
• Ensure issuance of materials only against approved stock requisitions
• Store hazardous material according to the relevant safety standard and where appropriate carry out disposal properly and safely
• Manage and maintain a perpetual count system ensuring that all items are physically verified at least once per month
• Ensure that reporting on inventory activities is completed and submitted to the appropriate parties on time
• Ensure effective stock holding to sustain company operations
• Ensure effective management and implementation of Stores SOPs
