JOB DESCRIPTION

Cassava Smartech is looking for a competent Video Editor to join its vibrant Akello team on a 6 months contract. The main purpose of the role is to to create and edit on- going video content for Akello’s platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to learning continuity.
• Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to specifications.
• Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video’s creation.
• Script writing and review
• Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the video.
• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects.
• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
• Operate computer editing systems and equipment used for video media and effects.
• Improve video and sound quality using various video software.
• Create and edit video content for Akello Smart Learning.
• Develop marketing videos for Akello products.
• Decides on the best software to use for video editing.
• Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

• Professional qualifications in film making, video editing and video creation.
• 2-3 years’ experience in script writing, video editing, digital marketing experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to present complex situations.
• Ability to develop objective driven scripts and objective driven marketing videos
• Ability to conduct video shootings with teachers and marketing influencers.
