TRUCK DRIVER – HARARE

 

 

An established company in the logistics business seeks to recruit qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Truck Driver that has arisen at our Harare Office. The incumbent will be reporting to the Fleet Controller.

 

 

Purpose of the Job

 

Safety and efficiently transporting goods throughout Zimbabwe and the region, while maintaining the vehicle in a good working condition.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

• Conducting pre-trip, en-route and post trip vehicle inspections.
• Safely and efficiently transporting goods to various destinations as assigned.
• Attending to minor breakdowns during the trips.
• Reporting vehicle defects to the supervisor and the workshop.
• Maintaining logs of working hours and vehicle service.
• Cleaning and maintaining the assigned vehicle in sound working order.

 

 

Qualifications and experience

 

• Clean Class 2 Drivers Licence.
• Valid Defensive Driving Certificate, Re-test and Medical Certificate.
• Ability to read and write, and converse in English.
• Aged between 35 and 50years.
• At least five years’ experience in heavy duty truck driving in a logistics set up.
• Able to effectively communicate with clients in a manner that positively reflects on the company.
