About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Treasury Department of a reputable financial institution. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Treasury Dealer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing treasury operations including foreign currency trading, cash flow management, and investment activities. This is a critical role requiring strong analytical skills, market awareness, and experience in treasury trading.
Key Responsibilities
•Mobilize deposits from market players and raise funds through bills and bonds.
•Set daily foreign currency exchange rates and input data into the Treasury Dealing System (TDS); circulate rates to internal and external stakeholders.
•Conduct market research and benchmarking of interest, investment, and exchange rates.
•Trade foreign currencies and other treasury instruments such as Treasury Bills and Bonds.
•Analyze and manage daily cash flow requirements and invest surplus funds in local and foreign currency markets.
•Monitor economic indicators such as inflation, liquidity, and market demand; advise management on potential financial impacts.
•Assess and forecast global currency trends and their influence on bank positions.
•Identify and manage risks associated with treasury operations.
•Prepare treasury-related management reports, including ALCO, Liquidity Reports, and Board submissions.
•Initiate Bureau de Change orders and ensure reconciliation of end-of-day transactions using TDS and RBZ systems.
•Undertake business development, customer relationship management, and marketing of treasury products.
Qualifications and Experience
•A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Banking and Finance.
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Treasury Dealer within a financial institution.
•Strong understanding of treasury instruments, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
•Proficiency in using treasury and banking systems.
•Ability to start work immediately is preferred.
