Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for the management of Council’s income and expenditure, supervision of Department’s staff, among others.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for prudent management of Council’s financial affairs.
• Providing professional advice to Council on all financial matters.
• Responsible for designing and implementing sound financial accounting systems.
• Recommending sound and feasible financial resources mobilization strategies.
• Coordinating the preparation and implementation of Council’s Budget.
•  Maintaining up-to –date books of accounts.
•  Timely preparation & presentation of year-end financial statements for annual audit.
• Appraising, supervising and offering professional advice to subordinates.
• Liaising and working in hand with other HoDs for the betterment of Council’s operations.
•  Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer from time to time

Qualifications And Experience

• A degree in Accounting &/ Finance, or any other related equivalent qualifications.
•  A Master’s degree in Finance &/ a professional qualification would be an added advantage.
•  A clean class 4 driver’s licence is an added advantage.
• 5 O’ levels including English Language and Mathematics / Accounts.
• At least 30 years of age.
•  At least three (3) years Local Government experience at middle or senior management level.
