Department of Applied Chemistry
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma in Chemical Technology and 1-year post
qualification experience or a Degree in Applied Chemistry or equivalent.
A working knowledge of AAS, HPLC, GC and UV-VIS Spectrophotometry will be expected of the suitable candidates.
A working knowledge of XRF will be an added advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Setting up equipment, apparatus, and preparation of reagents for laboratory practical work for students.
Assisting Academics in supervision and demonstration of practicals.
Assisting and supervising students during laboratory work for research projects.
Preparing materials, testing samples and performing sample analysis for research for Academic staff and Consultancy work.
Operating, demonstrating, caring, maintaining laboratory equipment and maintaining a safe
work environment.
