Summary

The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for analyzing and interpreting tax and customs related laws and regulations. This role involves conducting tax and customs compliance analysis, preparing documentation for tax filings, and advising management on tax-saving opportunities and compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

– Perform detailed discovery and in-depth tax and customs compliance analysis.
– Conduct investigations to enforce tax and customs laws and regulations are being complied with.
– Monitor tax and customs compliance processes and identify potential risks.
– Prepare and review tax and customs documentation for filings and reporting.
– Respond to inquiries from tax and customs authorities and provide necessary support.
– Advise management on tax-saving opportunities and compliance strategies.
– Keep updated on changes in tax and customs laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.

Knowledge and Skills:

– Strong analytical and research ability.
– Excellent knowledge of local tax and customs laws.
– Proficiency in tax preparation software and financial systems.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
– Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
– Knowledge of Business Management Systems (BMS)

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Fiscal Studies, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
– Diploma in Customs Legislation and Procedures is an added advantage.
– At least 3 years of proven experience in tax compliance or auditing.
– Familiarity with tax laws and regulations.
