Sustainable Tobacco Production Officer

The association is looking to fill this new vacancy effective 01 April 2022, to spearhead the development and promotion of sustainable tobacco production among is growers, in all of the tobacco producing districts in Zimbabwe, with specific emphasis working with small scale farmers.

Qualifications

1. Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy 2.1 award

2. In depth knowledge of sustainable farming practices

3. Blackfordby College Graduate an advantage

4. Tobacco farming knowledge a must.

5. Report and data analysis skills.

Working Experience

1. Minimum of 10 years in the agriculture field

2. Recent 5 years in the tobacco growing industry

3. Work experience with international tobacco companies an advantage

4. Extensive knowledge of sustainable tobacco programmes, including ALP.

Duties

1. Develop sustainable tobacco production programmes

2. Implementation, monitoring and training of programmes

3. Work with industry stakeholders on STP

4. Develop monthly reports

5. Data analysis and reports

6. Regular interaction with growers in the districts on sustainable tobacco production.

7. Build up a membership base through the promotion of sustainable tobacco production and grower visits.

Remuneration

1. USD700 – USD1000.00 net per month depending on qualifications and experience

2. Use of company vehicle – local and farming districts visits
