Subgrants Assistant (Reports to the Senior Subgrants Administrator)
Responsible for Subgrants, Small and Mini grants
Assist partners with the budget preparation, modification requests, introduce budget monitoring tools; Assist the Finance Department in requesting & reviewing all Small & Mini grants Drawdowns; Assist the Seniors Subgrants Administrator in requesting & reviewing all Subgrants Drawdowns for accuracy; Assist in monitoring Small and Mini grants as to the accuracy of financial information and safeguards to eliminate fraud; Routinely monitor financial reports for unusual activities, transactions, and investigate anomalies or unusual transactions; Review monthly financial reports and supporting documents of partners to ensure compliance; Follow up with partners on any outstanding supporting documents to ensure completeness of financial reports; Ensure filing of all grantees’ documentation, including agreements, financial reports & drawdowns; Update the Cumulative Tracker for the small and mini grants; Advise the Finance and Admin Director on the cash requirements by each partner for inclusion into the Monthly Wire Request; Assist in the training of Sub awardees; Perform other related duties as assigned by Senior Subgrants Administrator
Person specification & qualifications
First Degree in Finance / Accounting or related field, a professional qualification or postgraduate degree is an added advantage; Minimum 3 years experience in NGO Finance, Knowledge of USAID or US funded agents grants management an added advantage; Good working knowledge of google products such as Drive, Docs, Calendar etc; Very good communication skills required, both written and oral.
