Requirements

* The ideal candidate must possess a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent. The candidate should have at least three (3) years post-qualification experience in a University Library at Assistant/ Senior Assistant Librarian level. The ideal candidate must be mature, have a good working history, excellent leadership qualities, good organizational and public relations skills and have intense knowledge of office procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee the delivery of high-quality front-line library services, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and inclusivity in patron interactions across physical and digital platforms.
* Develop policies, guides, tutorials, and standard operating procedures to enhance the provision and operational efficiency of public services in the library.
* Develop and deliver innovative instructional programs and workshops, both in-person and online, that foster critical information and digital literacy skills.
* Lead initiatives to increase student, faculty, and community engagement with the library through targeted outreach, events, and partnerships.
* Use data and user feedback to evaluate service effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
* Supervise and mentor a team of library staff in client services and foster a collaborative, supportive work environment.
* Coordinate academic liaison programme, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with academic departments
* Work closely with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to integrate library resources into curricula and campus life.
