following posts that have arisen at Nyagui Sub-Catchment Council.

POST 1: SUB-CATCMENT MANAGER

Job Title             : Sub-Catchment Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Applicants must have at least 5 O’Levels passes including English Language and Mathematics Grade C or better.
  2. BSc Hon. Degree in Civil Engineering/ Civil and Water Engineering/ Water Resources Engineering/ Land and Water Resources Management or equivalent qualification.
  3. Masters in Integrated Water Resources Management or qualification in accounting, marketing and HRM is an added advantage
  4. At least 5 years working experience in IWRM or working with similar structures or institutions.
  5. Class 4 drivers’ licence is a must

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To provide a yearly strategic Master plan for Nyagui Sub Catchment Council.
  2. Oversees the accounting of all Sub-Catchment council funds and evaluate the financial systems for the Sub-Catchment council and proposing improvements where appropriate.
  3. Manages and participates in the development and administration of the Sub-Catchment council’s annual budget and procedurally make any necessary adjustments as necessary to meet changing conditions.
  4. Oversees and administers the information management system for the Sub-Catchment council and maintain information on permits, clients, invoices, research and other information in relation with Sub-Catchment council business.
  5. To organise, coordinate all Sub Catchment Council Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) programmes and activities.
  6. Conduct training, evaluation, promotion and disciplining of all Sub-Catchment council employees or establish procedures to follow on such matters.
  7. To monitor water flows and water usage in accordance with allocations made under permits.
  8. To attend to water disputes/conflicts and facilitate resolutions before they are brought to Full Council Meetings.
  9. Prepares quarterly and annual reports on activities for presentation in full council meetings and ensure that scheduled Sub-Catchment Full Council Meetings and Annual General Meetings are held as planned.
  10. Recommends the appointment and recruitment of staff and supervises their performance.
  11. To facilitate the formation of water users’ associations, committees or relevant groupings.
  12. To participate in meetings for District Development Committees, Government or Government related institutions / Developmental Agencies involved in or touching on IWRM issues e.g., Command Agriculture
  13. To carry out awareness and disseminate important IWRM information and technical advice to stakeholders.
