The University seeks to recruit applicants with the requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the
following posts in the Faculty of Medicine: –
1. Staff Development Fellow (2 POSTS)
Department of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences
Applicants must have a First Degree in Nursing Sciences, a Diploma in Paediatric Nursing and at least
2 years of working experience in a Paediatric Unit. In addition, they must be registered with the Nurses
Council of Zimbabwe and must have a current practising certificate. Experience and interest in
teaching and research will be an added advantage.
2. STAFF DEVELOPMENT FELLOW (2 POSTS)
Department of Psychiatry, Social and Behavioural Sciences
Applicants must hold a relevant MBChB/MBBS qualification and must be interested in teaching and
research in Psychiatry. Applicants must be registered with the Medical and Dental Practitioners
Council of Zimbabwe. In addition, they must be registrable with the Specialist Register of the
Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe. Successful candidates will be expected to
register or be already registered for a Masters Degree in Psychiatry. Applicants must already have
funding. Further, they must be self-motivated and willing to work with a dynamic team.
3. STAFF DEVELOPMENT FELLOW (4 POSTS)
Department of Pathology
POST A: Histopathology
POST B: Immunology
POST C: Haematology
POST D: Blood Transfusion Science
TO APPLY
Applicants must have Bachelor of Surgery and Medicine degrees or Bachelor of Medical Laboratory
Sciences or Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences or equivalent. Laboratory or Clinical experience in
histopathology, immunology, haematology and blood transfusion science. Current enrolment or
evidence of a plan to pursue a Masters’s degree or FRC Path or equivalent will be an added advantage.
