Sponsorship Volunteer: SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe

SOS Children’s Villages Association of Zimbabwe is a member of SOS International – a worldwide children’s social welfare organisation, providing vulnerable children without homes with a family home and educational opportunities as well as strengthening families to reduce poverty.

SOS Children’s Villages Zimbabwe has established Community Outreach Programmes around the country. The Programme aims to assist and support children in difficult circumstances, in particular, families headed by a child, a grandparent or by a single parent. The Organisation works as a development partner with communities and the local authorities.

The Responsibilities and Key Result Areas will include
Manning the reception and organising meetings; Typing correspondence and reports for the office; Follow data and overall information on sponsored children; Update such data recordings quarterly to national office sponsorship department and keep information systematically and orderly for reference at any time; Fill out and forward the monthly update form about any change on the status of children and youth under the Village’s care; Receives letters and gifts of sponsors from the national sponsorship department and distributes to the addressed children; Follows up on the status of children, whenever there is a change, like change of location, dismissal from school or village, health problem and provides the necessary update to national sponsorship department; As part of the child admission team fill the child admission form properly and forward to national sponsorship office for approval along with pictures; Maintains strict confidentiality and security in respect of all records, in particular children biography, sponsors data and other sensitive information.

Qualifications and Experience
Degree in English, Literature, Journalism, Communication or any other relevant social science field; Basic knowledge in Computer, Photography and Videography; Have excellent report writing skills and be able to operate in a highly confidential environment.
