- SPATIAL PLANNING OFFICER GRADE 10
Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Rural and Urban Planning
• Be proficient in all computer aided planning applications, including GIS
• Be proficient with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD
• A minimum of 3 years in spatial planning and land management, preferably at local authority and national levels
• Be at least 30 years of age
• A clean class four drivers licence
Personal attributes
• Must be mature and focused.
• Must be trustworthy and have no criminal record.
• This is a senior management position that makes the incumbent a member of the management team.
• Must have excellent management and leadership skills
Main duties and responsibilities
The incumbent’s duties will be inter alia:
• Spearheads the development and review of the District Master Plan and local/area plan in liaison with the Department of Physical and Spatial Planning.
• Coordinates the development and review of Council’s Strategic and Annual Plans
• Provides secretariat services to the Rural District Development Committee (RDDC)
• Controls and coordinates development by ensuring compliance with the Regional Town and Country Planning Act and Council’s by-laws
• Oversees title surveys, sub divisions and consolidation of properties in accordance with the Regional Town and Country Planning Act and government guidelines
