Job Summary
Our thriving organization in the Healthcare Service Industry is seeking A Sister in Charge. The incumbent will be responsible for providing assistance and care for patients, supervise nursing staff, maintain a clean and safe working environment, identify areas of improvement and engage management in addressing the needs of patients and ensure that all operational tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Training, orienting, mentoring and assigning duties to nurses, midwifes receptionists and nurse aids.
• Overseeing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Monitoring medical charts and provide compassionate care and assistance to patients and families.
• Liaising with the management and communicate any protocol changes to staff.
• Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Recording and maintaining accurate reports.
• Identifying issues or emergencies and responding in a calm and efficient manner.
• Coordinate daily administrative duties, including schedules, nursing assignments and patient care
• Manage medical stock and supplies and order drugs and sundries on time
• Provide and generate monthly reports on productivity, statistics, quality and customer service metrics
• Manage and oversee clients flow of Maternity and Surgery departments
• Monitor and manage nurses performance at the hospital
• Engage other line managers in enhancing the effective management of the hospital
• Participate in strategic planning and meetings of the hospital
• Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time
Qualifications And Experience
• Proven working experience as a nursing supervisor preferably in private
• In depth knowledge of hospital procedures
• Thorough knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
• Team management skills
• Great communication and people skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• A diploma or degree in Nursing/Midwifery and a post basic qualification in management is a must
• At least 40 years of age
