Reports to: Programmes Manager and Senior Programmes Officer

Position: Full time (Fixed term contract)

A local organisation seeks the services of a sign language interpreter; Main purpose of the job: Provide sign /English language interpretation for events; Support the training of sign language to citizens; Translate written text into sign language; Translate sign language into written text eg subtitles; Assist the media department with press releases, social media, website; Support the participation of persons with disabilities in organisational programmes; Conduct other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

5 O level subjects including English; A degree in translation or other relevant qualifications; Previous sign language interpreting experience with traceable references; Sign language certification from a reputable entity; Experience working with the Deaf community in Zimbabwe.
