SHEQ OFFICER

 

 

1. Safety Management

 

• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identifications, and site safety audits.
• Monitor PPE usage, safety behaviour, and ensure adherence to work permits and procedures (e.g., confined space, working at heights, electrical safety)
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Organize and facilitate toolbox talks, safety awareness campaigns, and emergency drills or evacuation exercises.
1. Environmental Compliance
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation—such as ISO 14001, waste management, pollution control, and permits.
• Conduct operations monitoring, establish environmental control programs, sampling (noise, dust, air, water), and manage waste
1. Quality Assurance & Management Systems
• Implement and maintain SHEQ management systems, including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections; manage quality control measures and track non-conformities or OFIs (Opportunities for Improvement).
• Maintain SHEQ documentation, safety files, registers, and systems for legal compliance.
1. Training, Awareness & Induction
• Design and deliver induction programs, trainings, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
• Conduct education on SHEQ policies, emergency procedures, and operating methods.
1. Reporting & Documentation
• Compile and submit daily, weekly, monthly SHEQ statistics and performance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain incident records, environmental logs, audit findings, training records, legal registers, and meeting minutes.
1. SHEQ System Implementation & Continuous Improvement
• Develop, review, and refine SHEQ policies, procedures, management systems, and BMS (Business Management Systems).
• Participate in management reviews and drive continuous improvement projects to reduce incidents and legal exposures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Health & Safety, Occupational Health, and Workplace Safety skills
• Environment Health and Safety (EHS) expertise
• ISO 45001, 14001 and 19001 certification
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and training abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Experience in implementing and managing health and safety programs
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
