SHE OFFICER – OF INNOVATION & AGRO-INDUSTRIAL PARK (1 POST)

The incumbent should assist in ensuring that the University has vibrant and robust occupational health and safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant legislation and national policies and regulations for the improvement of occupational health and safety performance within the University’s Innovation and Agro-Industrial Park.

Duties and Responsibilities

Organising and where appropriate conducting health and safety training.
Carrying out health and safety inspections.
Facilitation of the University’s health and safety committee meetings.
Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for all activities and enforce preventive measures.
Ensuring all accidents are documented and investigated.
Conduct periodic safety talks.
Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should be holders of BSc Honours in Geography and Environmental Studies/Safety, Health and Environmental Management/Environmental Science and Health or equivalent.
A relevant Masters’s degree would be an added advantage.
Possession of OSHEMAC is a distinct advantage. At least one (1) year post-qualification relevant experience.
