To serve as lead worker over a small crew of maintenance personnel performing work in the repair of Town utilities; to carryout maintenance equipment for the performance of assignments on a regular basis, including supervision over subordinate staff.
Employees are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility and participate in labour activities necessary to complete assigned tasks
• Provide functional and technical guidance to subordinate staff
• Repair leaks and breaks within wastewater lines; dig up wastewater lines; locate water line leaks and breaks; refill trenches after repairs have been made to specifications.
Duties And Responsibilities
1) Repairs and maintenance of all Sewer reticulation system in line with standard operating procedures.
2) Repairs and maintenance of Sewage Treatment Plant Infrastructure.
3) Installations of new Sewer Connections to required standards.
4) Repair of burst pipes, Collapsed sewer pipes, clear chokes in lines and overflows of Manholes.
5) Repair and Maintenance of all sewer system in Council Buildings
6) Ensure strict supervision of subordinates.
7) Ensure that all sewage spillages are stopped in zones of operations
Qualifications And Experience
a) At least a National Certificate in Plumbing and Drain laying from a Polytechnic College or any recognized institution.
b) A minimum of three (3) years experience in Sewer Infrastructure Development.
c) Knowledge of Local Authority system and previous working experience in a Local Authority environment will be an added advantage.
