Role Purpose:

The Service Technician – Generators is responsible for providing technical business support in line with key initiatives that promote sustainability and contribute to the company’s business objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

• Inspect, analyse, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment
• Troubleshoot all electrical issues using appropriate tools, devices, and diagrams
• Run diagnostic tests and interpret results to make effective recommendations
• Write up technical reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans
• Maintain, repair, diagnose, and correctly install or replace equipment and machinery
• Interpret blueprints, engineering schematics, and electrical diagrams
• Accurately file reports for repairs, installations, and maintenance
• Diagnose technical errors or faults and determine proper solutions
• Audit, service, repair, and maintain generator equipment
• Ensure all customer-site information is properly documented on job cards and site diagrams
• Install and maintain electrical wiring systems
• Handle customer relations professionally and with a customer-centric approach
• Follow company procedures and operational protocols

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Skilled Worker Class 1 certification
• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar generator servicing role
• Sound knowledge of electrical power generation and installations
• Computer literacy, including:
• SAP exposure
• MS Office
• SIS ET
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
• Excellent customer relations and technical customer service skills
