Senior Technician (3 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinating smooth running of laboratories
• Supervising junior technical staff and students on attachment
• Providing services involving AAS, GC, HPLC and other instruments
• Carrying out general maintenance of equipment and apparatus
• Ensuring that general laboratory safety and regulations are observed and practised at all times
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Chairperson.
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
Applicants must possess the following:
• Have a Degree in Chemistry or related area or a Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Applied Chemical Technology
• Possess a minimum of 5 ‘O’ level passes including English Language, Science and Mathematics at Grade C or better.
• Knowledge of working with the following instruments AAS, FTIR, GC or HPLC and have experience in running undergraduate chemistry teaching laboratories is a distinct advantage.
• Have a clean class 4 driver’s licence.
