JOB DESCRIPTION

• Leasing the Operating Unit and Sub Consultants through an effective culture change to achieve company excellence
• Liaising with line managers and the Consultation team to ensure coherence with goals and achieve objectives
• Establishing and maintaining clear organizational responsibilities for risk management in the Operating Of the company
• Becoming the focal point for competence assurance for Environmental issues
• Ensuring quality / implementation / performance monitoring and effective annual management review
• Establishing and maintaining the Environmental and legal register/ permits and the status of regulatory compliance
• Writing and coordinating well laid out reports for submission to EMA on a project by project basis.
• Monitoring progress of the team towards agreed targets and identifying improvement ideas
• Leading the investigation of all incidents / analysis of trends / facilitating reviews by Line Managers and where applicable with the Sub Consultants
• Knowledge of International Finance Corporation and Equator Principles environmental safe guards is an added advantage
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to proof read and edit specialist reports
• Ability to write proposal or ability to respond to environmental tenders

SPECIFICATION

Experience

At least 8 years’ experience working in the environmental sector

Education Level

Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field

Qualifications

Experience in undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments is an added advantage

Skills

Excellent communication skills

Project management skills

Excellent computer skills especially working with word and excel

Good presentation skills of both documents and power point

An appreciation of international environmental conventions is an added advantage

Ability To

Communicate proficiently / Manage and integrate with others in different functions and integrate in a multicultural and diverse team

Ability to work with minimal supervision
