Key Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation and monitoring of the organisation’s privacy compliance framework.
- Conduces regular reviews, audits and gap assessments of data protection controls.
- Assists in the preparation and maintenance of Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs).
- Supports the execution of data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for existing processes and new projects and initiatives.
- Monitors, investigates and reports on data privacy incidents and breaches.
- Assists in handling data subject rights requests in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepares compliance reports and dashboards for management and regulator (Data Protection Authority).
- Conducts staff awareness and training sessions on data protection requirements.
- Tracks and analyzes changes in privacy regulations and advise on necessary compliance measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Data Privacy or related field.
- Certifications such as Data Protection Officer, CIPP/E, CDPSE, ISO 27701 Lead Implementer/Auditor are advantageous.
- At least 4 years’ experience in privacy compliance, data protection or related area.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws such as the Cyber and Data Protection Act, GDPR, POPI Act.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Good reporting skills
