1. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (6 MONTHS CONTRACT)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• An Accounting degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Applicant should have at least five (5) years’experience in the field of Management.
• Accountancy Membership to a relevant professional body is a must.
• Exposure to local authorities accounting systems will be an added advantage

MAIN TASKS HEADINGS

• Credit control and revenue collections
• Preparation of revenue and expenditure reports
• Bank reconciliations
• Debtors & Creditors reconciliation
• Production of Management reports
• Budgeting

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

• Check and verify debtors’accounts balances
• Prepare daily cash and bank balances report
• Prepare bank reconciliations for all accounts
• Check and authorize banking
• Check accuracy of statements before distribution
• Ensure statements are distributed on time
• Follow up on debtors and organize collection exercises
• Prepare schedules for the Finance Committee report
• Supervise Accountants and clerks
• Prepare weekly payment schedule
• Review the payroll
• Prepare schedules/ notes to management accounts
• Check and ensure accuracy of cash book transactions
• Identify training gaps amongst subordinates
• Prepare trading accounts for commercial outlet
