1. To ensure seed production/procurement and quality targets are achieved and implement seed value chain from production, processing, packaging and distribution to meet market standards in the right quantities in the right time.
2. Facilitate the Seed Operations budget preparation using best practices , approval, and review process in order to match stipulated budget against expenditure
3. Agronomic Advice -Provide capacity development on internal managers and staff on the seed varieties to provide stakeholders with the requisite information that will assist the organisation in meeting its mandate
4. Seed Production -Ensure that local seed production is undertaken by suitably skilled small scale and large scale out growers and correct seed is grown in correct area.
5. Seed processing -Oversee the testing of seed for germination and purity to meet set standards
6. Seed Procurement -Liaise with the marketing department regarding the ordering of seed to ensure the availability at all times
Requirements
1. Degree in Agriculture/ Agriculture Economics/ Crop Science/ Botany
2. At least 5 – 7 years working experience
3. Three years in a senior role
